Reservations & payments

You can easily make a reservation via our website, by telephone on: 0031 118 55 25 10, or by email at: info@westduin.nl.

The conditions vary depending on the rate. With the “Best Price” rate, payment is made in advance and changes or cancellations are not possible.

With the FLEX-rate, you have more flexibility: you can pay in advance, in which case the amount will be refunded if the cancellation is valid, or you can provide your creditcard details as a guarantee and pay upon arrival.

You can pay by debit card, cash, or creditcard. We accept American Express, Visa, Mastercard, and JCB. Our preferred payment method is debit card.

Payment is made upon arrival, unless the stay has already been paid for in advance. Invoices are not sent afterwards.

Please note that we accept €200 and €500 banknotes with a surcharge of €5 per banknote.

That depends on your reservation. If you have booked the FLEX rate, you can cancel free of charge until 2:00 PM on the day before arrival.

If you have chosen the non-refundable rate, it is unfortunately not possible to change or cancel your reservation.

If you have booked more than 5 rooms, the Uniform Conditions for the Hotel and Catering Industry (UHC) applies. 

Yes, you can. We will do our best to take your preferences into account. If you would like a guarantee, we charge a small preference fee.

You can purchase a gift voucher both at the reception and via the website. You can choose any amount you wish.

Arrival & departure

Check-in is available from 3:00 PM. If you arrive earlier and your room is already cleaned and ready, you may use your room before the official check-in time.

Arriving after 8:00 PM? Please let us know in advance, and we will ensure your arrival goes as smoothly as possible.

Check-out is available until 11:30 AM. Subject to availability, it is possible to book a late check-out, allowing you to check out at 1:00 PM (for an additional fee).

Check-in is available from 3:00 PM.

Upon arrival, we will personally welcome you at the reception desk. You can then easily complete the administrative part of the check-in process using our kiosks.

You can find your reservation by entering your surname. Our staff are always nearby to assist you if needed.

Is it busy at reception when you arrive? You are welcome to start the check-in process yourself at one of the kiosks. This helps you avoid unnecessary waiting.

Yes, the hotel has its own parking lot. If you are staying with us, a parking space is automatically reserved for you. You will receive the barrier code during check-in. Parking at our hotel costs €10 per night.

Have you booked directly through Strandhotel Westduin? Then we are happy to reward you with complimentary parking during your stay.

You may park on our premises from 1:00 PM on the day of arrival until 1:00 PM on the day of departure. Outside these hours, a public paid parking area is available approximately 100 meters away.

We have 4 charging stations for electric vehicles. You can use your own charging card to access them.

The hotel can be reached by public transport; however, there is no bus stop directly at the hotel. A good alternative is Zeeland’s flexible transport system.

Through the so-called “hubs”, you can easily travel from one location to another. Please note that this transport must be booked at least 1 hour in advance.

Strandhotel Westduin has 9 multifunctional meeting rooms for groups ranging from 4 to 500 people.

By completing your details online before your stay, the check-in process on arrival will be quick and efficient.

You can enjoy a delicious dinner in our own restaurant, ‘bij Jules’.

In addition, there are several other dining options in the surrounding area. Please feel free to ask us for more information and recommendations.

We offer a range of comfortable facilities for business guests.

Our rooms include a desk, allowing you to work comfortably and efficiently. We also offer quiet rooms that are ideal for relaxing or preparing for appointments and meetings.

During your stay, you can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, access to our fitness room, and use of the infrared sauna.

The unique location of Strandhotel Westduin offers plenty of opportunities to combine work and relaxation.

Directly from the hotel, you can walk, run, or cycle through the dunes and along the beach.

For business groups, various team-building activities can also be organised on the beach or in the surrounding natural environment.

Facilities & services

Yes, breakfast is included in our standard room rate.

If you prefer to book an overnight stay without breakfast, you can select the “excluding breakfast” option on our website. Booking a rate that includes breakfast is more cost-effective than adding breakfast separately at a later stage.

Yes, you can enjoy a strong Wi-Fi connection throughout the hotel. This service is available free of charge.

Yes, our fitness room and infrared sauna are free of charge for hotel guests. Both facilities are open daily from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

If you use the infrared sauna, we kindly ask you to wear swimwear.

You can rent bicycles from us to explore the surrounding area.

The bicycles are equipped with 7 gears, a hand brake, and an adjustable saddle and handlebar.

We also rent out electric bicycles. These have a range of approximately 50 to 100 kilometres.

Bicycles can be rented at the reception desk, subject to availability. Electric bicycles can only be rented for a full day. Unfortunately, half-day rentals are not available.

We strongly recommend securing bicycles with a chain lock (ART 3 approved) attached to a bicycle rack. This significantly reduces the risk of theft.

As a hotel guest, you can make free use of our secure and covered bicycle storage facility.

You can use the same access code as the parking barrier to open the door. This code will be provided upon arrival.

The hotel has two lifts. These provide access to almost all rooms on the first and second floors.

If you have limited mobility, please let us know when making your reservation so that we can allocate a room that is easily accessible.

If you or someone in your travel party has a physical disability or multiple physical disabilities, please contact us in advance so we can discuss the available options.

In the East Wing (1st floor, near room 111) there is an accessible toilet/shower. In the North Wing there is an additional accessible toilet. A key card for these facilities is available at reception.

Rooms

You will find a safe for valuables in the wardrobe of your room.

Every room is equipped with its own minibar. The minibar is not stocked.

Please note: a minibar has limited cooling capacity and is not a refrigerator. We recommend placing already chilled drinks in the minibar.

Every room is equipped with its own hairdryer.

All hotel rooms are equipped with air conditioning, which can also be used for heating.

Yes, it is possible to add an extra single bed or a baby cot (for children up to 2 years old) for an additional charge.

Please inform us when making your reservation so that everything can be arranged before your arrival.

If you stay with us for more than one night, your room will be refreshed daily. If you would prefer to skip housekeeping, simply hang the card provided in your room.

You can then collect a €5 voucher from reception, which can be used in our restaurant, lounge, or bar.

You can choose from a Land Side Hotel Room, Dune Side Hotel Room, Junior Suite, Seabreeze Suite, Dune Suite, and Tiny House ’t Houten Hofje.

This is available daily in our lounge.

Dinner
Open daily from 5:30 PM. Last orders can be placed no later than 9:00 PM.

Lounge
For coffee, tea, snacks, and drinks, you are welcome to visit our lounge. The lounge is open daily from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

 

Yes, non-residents are welcome to join us for breakfast. We do recommend making a reservation in advance. The price for breakfast is €24.50 per person.

If you would like to have dinner in our restaurant, we recommend reserving a table in advance through the reception desk. This is due to the limited number of guests we can accommodate.

For breakfast, a reservation is only required for groups of more than three people. Please note that breakfast is busiest between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM.

During this period, you may need to wait briefly for a table to become available.

Yes, we are happy to accommodate allergies and dietary requirements.

Please inform us of any allergies or dietary preferences before your stay so that we can make the necessary arrangements.

Yes, room service is available. A service charge of €7.50 applies per order.

Emergencies & safety

Yes, for your safety and ours, security cameras are installed in the public areas of the hotel.

The hotel's main entrance is freely accessible from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Outside these hours, you can ring the bell and the night porter will let you in.

House rules

To keep all rooms fresh and comfortable, we can only accommodate assistance dogs (for an additional fee).

You may smoke outside on your balcony, terrace, or on our outdoor terraces. The hotel is entirely non-smoking indoors, allowing everyone to enjoy a fresh and pleasant environment.

Please make sure to close the door to prevent smoke odours from entering the building.

A cleaning fee of €500 will be charged if smoking indoors results in additional cleaning requirements.

Lost property is handed in at reception. If you have forgotten something, please contact us for this at info@westduin.nl or 0031 118 55 25 10.

Beach

Beach towels are not provided for use at the beach. We kindly ask you to bring your own.

The dune crossing is located directly next to the hotel. On the landward side, you walk up and down via a winding footpath made of crushed shells.

On the beach side, there is a staircase providing access to and from the beach. As a result, the beach is not accessible by wheelchair via this dune crossing.

On sunny days, there is a sunscreen station outside where guests can use complimentary sunscreen. You will find it opposite the main entrance.

Surroundings & activities

There is plenty to do in the area around the hotel. With the dunes and beach just 50 metres away, you can enjoy cycling, walking, or a relaxing day by the sea. The hotel is situated in a green and natural setting, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers.

In addition, several charming towns and cities are located nearby, including Middelburg, Vlissingen, and Veere. Here you can enjoy shopping, cafés, culture, and historic attractions.

You can find walking and cycling routes among the brochures available in our lounge. You will also find maps of Walcheren, Middelburg, and Vlissingen there.

There is plenty for children to enjoy around Strandhotel Westduin. At the beach (approximately 50 metres away), they can play, search for shells, and go swimming.

The surrounding area also offers family-friendly attractions such as Deltapark Neeltje Jans, featuring seals and water attractions. Mini Mundi, with its rides and playground, is another popular destination for children.
